Alien conference set to land in Perth
Video footage allegedly depicting alien implants being surgically removed from humans will be shown during a scientific conference exploring the possible existence of extraterrestrial life.
The Hidden Truths conference, organised by the Australian Close Encounter Resource Network (ACERN), will address various theories surrounding alien life forms, including alien abduction.
The surgery footage will show US surgeon, researcher and author Dr Roger Leir performing operations on people who claimed to have been abducted by aliens and then returned to earth.
Dr Leir will attend the Perth conference to discuss his work, which includes a book entitled The Aliens and the Scalpel.
Also included in the conference program will be theories that a generation of "super-children", born with high levels of intelligence and strength, are being born due to alien intervention.
There will also be discussions about an unknown and lost civilisation in Australia. The conference will take place on July 27.

Reports of UFOs in Stourbridge
Stourbridge - UK - July 17 2003 - A Black Country UFO research group has had a big increase in reports of unexplained lights in the sky since the start of the hot spell.
Stourbridge-based Uform says it is getting reports every day of sightings of unexplainable lights and objects in the sky.
Group member Yvonne South said there appeared to be increasing activity in the "Himley Triangle" around the epicentre of the Dudley earthquake in September last year. And two unusual events were reported in Dudley on Monday and Brierley Hill on Tuesday night.
"An unexplainable silver spinning ball was seen briefly between Dudley Castle and the Black Country Museum on Monday around 1pm. It remained in the sky for seconds before disappearing.
"On Tuesday night an object was seen in the Brierley Hill area at approximately 11.45pm which travelled in the direction of Pensnett turned very sharply then disappeared instantly.
"These sightings are from credible witnesses who know the difference between, aircraft, balloons, satellites and the rising stars. There are probably even more sightings that we are totally unaware of," she said.
She appealed for anyone with information about the Black Country sightings or other unexplainable objects in the sky to contact Uform on 07941 833842.

NASA may have found life on Mars
Two British astronomy writers say NASA found evidence of life on Mars in 1976 but dismissed the findings as impossible.
Nigel Henbest and Heather Couper say one of three Viking lander experiments on Mars obtained clear evidence of living microbes.
The men, in Sydney for the International Astronomical Union's 24th general assembly, told the Australian the experiment exposed samples of Martian soil to a solution of water and nutrients.
Henbest said if there was no life, then nothing would happen but if there were microbes, they would take in the solution and produce gas. He said the gas was tagged with a radioactive label that could be detected by the experiment's built-in Geiger detector.
Although gas was detected in one of the three experiments, the other two found no telltale signs of life so NASA dismissed the findings.

Aliens are big business in Roswell
The International UFO Museum & Research Center recorded 206,000 visitors last year; the only museum in the state that draws more visitors is Albuquerque's New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science.
Gift shop sales at Roswell's UFO tourist attraction topped $1 million for the first time last year with Julie Shuster, the museum's executive director, reporting that sales this year are running ahead of 2002's record-setting performance.

Area 51- Soon to be PlayStation 2 + Xbox game
Midway Games Inc., a leading software industry publisher and developer, announced today that Area 51, the ultimate "sci-fi meets government cover-up" first-person shooter videogame, is scheduled to ship in 2004 for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox video game system from Microsoft.
Featuring online play for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox Live, Area 51 is set in the U.S. government's most top-secret and secure facility located in the Nevada desert. Players take on the role of Lt. Nick Cross, a hazardous biological waste specialist sent to investigate. During his investigation, Lt. Cross stumbles across alien creatures and becomes infected with a biological mutagen that eventually transforms him into something not quite human. To save the earth and himself, Lt. Cross must fight to solve the enigma of Area 51.
"The intrigue and rumors that surround the top-secret facility add a unique intensity and all-new dimension to this first-person shooter," said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing, Midway.
Area 51 takes the player through eight massive levels within a clandestine government complex. Combining intense combat, exploration, adventure, discovery, and puzzle solving, the game blends graphic violence with science fiction. As Lt. Cross, the player will discover secret areas and items, including the answers to this rumored government conspiracy.

Is anybody out there? - North Wales
TRAVEL BACK IN TIME
MANY people put UFO sightings down to the armed forces testing new designs and equipment, but there have been sightings in North Wales as early as the 18th century. In 1743 William John Lewis, a farmer from Peibio, near Holyhead, saw an object sailing through the air above the nearby mountains long before man had mastered flight. He claimed he had seen similar crafts at roughly 10-year intervals.
Historian James Buckley interviewed descendants of miners from Mold who saw a UFO in the 1880s. The men, who were struggling to feed their families on the miserable wages they were being paid, had gone to nearby Padeswood to collect some snares they were using for poaching. Already tense at the prospect of being caught stealing by the landowner, they were terrified when they saw a large, bright, purple sphere hovering above the field. The men ran away, but when they returned again to pick up their snares there was a circle of scorched grass where the craft had been.
GREAT BALLS OF FIRE
THE Egryn lights are a famous phenomenon that have baffled people in Meiryonnydd for centuries, but in the last few decades they have also attracted the attention of ufologists. In the 17th century balls of flame were seen crossing the sea near the west coast of Wales. In Harlech in 1662 it was claimed that these strange lights were setting fire to crops and barns and infecting grass, although they seemed to do no harm to people who were in the fields at the time.
In 1877 blue lights were seen over Pwllheli and the Dysynni Estuary, and in the early 1900s the lights were adopted by Mary Jones and the Revivalists as proof that God was trying to communicate with them.
UNSOLVED MYSTERY
ONE of the most famous UFO sightings in Wales occurred in the village of Llangernyw, Conwy, in the 1970s. After farmers reported seeing strange lights in the sky military personnel cordoned parts of the village off and evacuated civillians from the area. The incident attracted worldwide interest from ufologists, but to this day the Ministry of Defence has never come up with an explanation of what the lights were or why the village was closed off.

UFO Picture - Eugene - Oregon
Eugene - Oregon - June 9, 2003 - This is Shana in Eugene Oregon. I take pictures every night of what I know to be spirit beings, or orbs if you will. The other night I was talking on the phone outside with my best friend, taking pictures as I always do in the evening. I did not see this with my necked eye, I was taking pictures randomly as I always do. It wasn't "till I came in to down load the pics that I saw this, I was still on the phone with my friend, and I almost freaked when I saw this!
