UFO spotted in Lancashire
Burnley - Lancashire - UK - Burnley cabbie Mr Steve Haworth and a passenger watched a mysterious flying object suddenly appear, perform a series of mind-boggling manoeuvres and then simply disappear without trace above the town, early on Saturday morning.
The part-time taxi driver was taking a customer from his Hufling Lane home to work in Waterfoot. They were travelling along Bacup Road when they turned a corner and first saw the object in the sky.
It was only 7-45 in the morning, but there wasnt a cloud in the sky. It was beautiful and clear, he said. I immediately thought the object was a plane, but it wasnt small, it wasnt high up and it was moving slowly.
The silver cigar-shaped object with a small pulsating light in the middle, stopped and hovered. Then it changed shape as it started going forwards and backwards in a perfectly straight line.
It did this twice before vanishing into thin air.
There was no noise and no vapour trail, added Mr Haworth. If it had been an aircraft we would have heard it from where we were. It did not take-off, it just simply disappeared.
He added: The whole experience only lasted three minutes. I remember looking at the clock in the car, it was 7-45 a.m. and by the time the object had disappeared it was 7-48 a.m..
Im so glad I had someone with me who saw what I did, otherwise I would have been doubting my sanity. Im just curious to know what it was. I have considered and dismissed all the sensible options, a UFO is the only logical explanation I can think of.

Ohio residents report strange lights in sky
ROME TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Residents in the Rome Township, Proctorville and Chesapeake areas were not necessarily concerned, but were curious about the source of odd lights in the sky Sunday and Monday nights. Two lights appeared to circle as if chasing one another each night over Rome Township, prompting residents to peer skyward. Occasional blips or flashes also appeared at random, sometimes over Ohio 7 and sometimes over Ohio 243 or to the south, toward the Ohio River.
"They were just kind of circling around," said Roger Lambert, of Rome Township.
Lambert wasn’t the only one interested in the lights that appeared, at times, to resemble spotlights reflecting off clouds. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department received phone calls inquiring about the lights, as did television stations WOWK and WSAZ.
Thunderstorms flashed both nights, but the circling lights certainly didn’t appear to be lightning.
While the lights didn’t incite panic, they made for conversation.
Ohio traditionally has been a hotbed for UFO sightings, although the southeastern part of the state isn’t particularly known for such things. The northeastern section of Ohio, particularly around Akron, has garnered much more attention for strange phenomena in the sky.
An event similar to this week’s light show took place in the Greasy Ridge area of Union Township just north of Chesapeake in the early 1970s when residents reported seeing two white lights circling together over farmland on a warm summer night.
Oddly enough, the Lawrence County light display wasn’t the only recent unusual phenomena in the Buckeye State in recent days. On Friday, then again on Saturday, Heather Rice of Bainbridge, Ohio, spotted and filmed something she couldn’t explain in the skies of central Ohio.
"It looked like a circular thing with windows with the red and green lights shining through," Rice said in a story distributed by the Associated Press. "It was spinning fast."

UFO Lights in the Sky - Louisiana
Lake Charles Moss Bluff resident Stephanie Wilks saw a strange glowing object in the nights sky last Thursday. She says, "I am not crazy and I am very sane I don't believe in UFO's but my perspective is changing."
Wilks spotted something flying around than night. Her mom videotaped it.
Wilks says, "Last Thursday night me and my boyfriend were getting ready to leave and we live across from a big open farm field and in the middle of the field were these four orange lights. Something that isn't there all the time definitely out of the ordinary."
Former Sulphur mayor Dennis Sumpter saw something in the sky that night. He even took a picture with his digital camera. Sumpter says, "Well there are a lot people out there that may say I am crazy. When I saw it over the trees again it looked more like flares. I lost it in the trees and about 8 miles later when we got to our farm it had moved in the sky. I served in intelligence in the service and I would think it is some kind of military flare that we are not used to seeing.
Wilks says she has no idea what the object was.
"Fear of the unknown fear of not knowing what they are looking at or doing or whatever it was watching me or whatever the lights came from very scary and creepy. It was fun though I wouldn't change anything about it,"said Wilks.
Both Wilks and Sumpter say they would like to see the object again so they can get

Crop Circle - Ohio
A crop circle has shown up in a soybean field near Locust Grove, Ohio.
There are several markings with smaller circles on the sides. The total design measures about 300 feet across.
The farmer spotted the design while inspecting his crops for flood damage.
We're told a crop circle investigator is on the case, and he says there have only been a handful of soybean circles reported in the US.

Lake Area Residents Spot UFO
Late last week, some in Calcasieu say they saw something else in the sky out of the ordinary, and they were able to capture it on home video.
Dwayne Wilks, "My daughter called and said dad come outside there's something really weird in the sky. It was sometime after 9:00 p.m. last Thursday night. Never seen nothing like that before in my life."
Wilks, who lives in Moss Bluff, and other residents nearby saw something very unusual in the sky.
On Paul Bellon Road in north Moss Bluff, some residents say they saw a very strange string of bright lights. They say it happened in a field, just above that tall group of trees.
Wilks says, "I know there was 10 of us and all of us saw the same thing."
Wilks' father Daniel saw it too, "There was definitely lights out there. Now craft I couldn't say yes or no because it was dark and I couldn't see any craft, but i did see the lights."
And the Wilks family weren't the only ones to see it, the Bellon's who live just around the corner saw it too, and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office says another report of it also came in that night from Iowa.
Wilks says the people who live here say they've seen lots of aircraft pass through the area, but nothing that resembles this, "I been living here all my life and never seen nothing in that field so it wasn't just some object out there.. It was high enough off the ground. It was something in the air.. You couldn't hear it. It was strange.. Totally strange."
The Lake Charles Regional Airport had no reports of any strange objects that night, and they say the airport radar didn't pick up anything.

MYSTERY AFTER UFO SIGHTINGS PUZZLE EXPERTS
Scotland - Strange lights in the North-east night sky have baffled the experts.
Sixteen lights travelling rapidly across clear skies were spotted over two nights by a Fyvie resident.
Air traffic control bosses and aviation experts have ruled out aircraft or satellites, because the lights were travelling too fast to be planes or orbiting objects.
Astronomy experts say the lights could not have been "shooting stars" because they were travelling too slowly and from different directions.
One North-east UFO expert was at a loss to offer a straightforward explanation and said the mysterious sightings should be logged as genuine close encounters with unidentified flying objects.
The high-level Fyvie flyovers first appeared on Thursday about 10.30pm and were still crossing silently overhead more than two hours later.
They took only seconds to cross the sky, then gave a repeat performance on Friday night and into Saturday morning.
Resident and Evening Express reporter Graham Lawther said he spotted the first lights at 10.35pm on Thursday.
He said: "I had stepped outside for a good view of Mars, which is closer to the earth now than it has been for thousands of years, on what was a crystal-clear, moonless night.
"But I also saw a small white light, high in the atmosphere, appear in the southern sky and fly extremely fast to the north.
"It was far too rapid for an aircraft. It was across the whole sky in under 10 seconds and a plane would have taken several minutes."
Mr Lawther saw seven identical, fast-moving pinpricks of light between 10.35pm and 11.20pm, and six more from 12.15am-12.45am.
Three more were witnessed on the Friday night, between 10.20pm and 10.35pm, the first heading south and two more quickly heading north.
A RAF Kinloss spokeswoman said: "We had no activity in that area on either day."
A National Air Traffic Services spokesman said: "I have checked with our colleagues in Aberdeen and Prestwick, which covers the upper air space.
"There are no reports of any sightings from either night."
A spokesman for the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh said the lights could have been satellites in high orbit.
He said large satellites were occasionally seen with the naked eye, though never 13 in less than two hours.
He said they were almost always observed shortly before dawn or after dusk, when sunlight reflected off their highly polished surfaces.

UFO sighting excites alien hunters
UFO investigators are targeting Suffolk in their quest to find alien life.
The county has become the focus for alien hunters, in a case worthy of X files agents Mulder and Scully, after a strange sighting of an apparently alien craft in the skies over east Suffolk.
Eagle-eyed residents living along the banks of the River Orwell may have witnessed a close encounter of the third kind if they had glanced up at the starry sky.
A strange yellow D-shaped object was spotted overhead by a man in his garden at Freston.
He watched in wonder as the UFO changed shape before it altered course and flew off at around 11pm on August 5.
The man called the operator who put him through to Contact – an organisation based in Oxfordshire that records and researches UFO sightings.
The object could not have been very high as the witness saw an aeroplane flying above it, but he knew it was not the moon as he could see this clearly.
Contact spokesman, Michael Sopher, said: "Any sightings over the Ipswich area are of great interest to us due to the historic events at Rendlesham. New evidence recently released from the government admits that this event was a proper UFO landing."
Rendlesham is renowned worldwide for the events in 1980 when American airmen claimed a UFO landed in the forest at their airbase.
He added: "In East Anglia reported sightings differ from other areas. There are lots of reports of strange objects flying inland from the sea and then back again.
"There was a wave of UFO sightings in Birmingham in June. Many people reported seeing lights zig-zagging in the sky near the airport.
"At the time there was a geomagnetic storm which we believe causes people to be more spontaneous and tends to make people who see something more likely to report it."
